“Himeji Oden” is gaining fame as local specialty, and the number of visitors coming to
Himeji to try Himeji Oden is increasing.
The name “Himeji Oden” has been claimed as a regional collective
trademark by our Association.
In regional collective trademarks, entities who can apply for the trademark use are limited
to associations which meet a statutory requirement.
In order to use the name “Himeji Oden” and logo and character in advertising displays
or menues, you need to register with our association.
However, you don’t need to use the name “Himeji Oden” in order to serve oden with ginger
soy sauce.
Unfortunately, even if you apply to use our brand name by registering with our
association, we may decline depending on your restaurant style and menu contents.
Usage of our brand, may also incur certain royalties in the future depending on its usage.
